Planete Rouge - Gigolo Rec. - Datapunk // (FRA)
Hailing from the city of Lille in France, TERENCE FIXMER is a key player in the fusion of electronic body music with modern techno since the late nineties. Music reminiscent of Front 242, Klinik or Nitzer Ebb.
With releases on his own label, Planete Rouge, and the albums "Muscle Machine" (2001) and "Silence Control" (2006) On Gigolo Records and remixes for Dave Clarke, Sven Vath, Dj Hell etc... he has always been at the cutting edge of a techno concept that is as aware of the past as it is relevant to the contemporary.
He is considered by many as the bridge between the alternative scene and the techno scene.
Unsurprisingly Terence's collaboration with Nitzer Ebb singer Douglas McCarthy ("between the devil" album, 2004) under the project name Fixmer/ Mccarthy also caused something of a sensation.
His solo live act sounds thoroughly unique, original in terms of style, energy and atmosphere. 2007 see Terence developing his sound in a new direction which go more soulful, slower and at some point could be darker or melodic.
His remix for Radio Slave is the good example. Now he work on his third solo album. Almost ready and plan to be released for beginning 2009.
